Testopel

Every male has testosterone. Testosterone is released in large amounts in the body of a boy during his pubescent years, and provides him the ability to grow facial hair, build muscle, deepen his voice, and creates his sexual desire. Low testosterone is a common occurrence among middle-aged men.

Low-T affects 1 in every 200 males under the age of 60. Testosterone naturally begins to decrease at a rate of about 3% per year by age 40.

Low testosterone in men has been known to cause such symptoms as anxiety, stress and mood swings, difficulty concentrating, and a decreased ability to complete everyday intellectual tasks. Weight gain around the belly and a loss of muscle are also common side effects of having low testosterone. The most common complaint among men who suffer from low testosterone is sexual problems. The first step toward treating low testosterone levels is to discuss all of your symptoms with your urologist and then test the hormone levels within the body to see if this is indeed the problem. Low testosterone levels can be replaced through various types of testosterone replacement therapy. One such therapy is the insertion of testosterone pellets known as Testopel.

Testopel pellets and other similar implant treatments require a prescription and are administered by a physician. They are used primarily to treat testosterone deficiencies in men whose bodies are unable to create sufficient amounts due to injury, disease, or other unspecified causes.

These small, tic-tac size pellets are injected under the skin, near the buttock. The procedure is minimally invasive and leaves a very small scar. Many men will notice positive changes and an improvement in their symptoms in a matter of weeks.

Each patient will receive a varying dose of the pellets but patients may take up to ten at a time. The pellets work by releasing a constant supply of testosterone into the body. Testosterone levels will need to be monitored by a physician in order to determine if the current dosage is working or if more implants should be inserted.

Men who use Testopel over other testosterone treatments find that it is a more convenient method to receive testosterone. The testosterone is delivered in a consistent manner which also helps to regulate mood swings and erratic behavior.
