Dialysis

Posted by:

When a person has healthy kidneys, they can rest assure that these organs are helping to eliminate waste from the body and regulate water, minerals and antioxidants in order to keep the blood clean. When a person has an unhealthy or non-functioning kidney, alternative measures must be taken so that the body remains healthy. Dialysis is a procedure that provides a substitute for many of the normal duties a healthy kidney should be performing. Patients will usually require dialysis when the waste measured within the body becomes too high and thus, unhealthy. There are varying forms of dialysis treatment and depending on the overall condition of the kidneys will determine the type of treatment as well as how often it should be administered.
