Prostatalgia

The term prostatalgia is a medical term used to describe pain the prostrate gland. The condition, which is benign and can affect a man of any age, is a problem that can be caused by a blockage, an enlarged prostate (benign prostatic hyperplasia), an enflamed prostate gland, impotence and/or urinary incontinence. Before a course of treatment can be prescribed, a physician must run tests specific to the prostrate so that a diagnosis can be determined as to why the pain is occurring.
