When someone experiences incontinence or problems associated with the bladder, one treatment option is to insert a sling in order to support the bladder so that symptoms of involuntary loss of urine can be controlled. A surgical sling procedure used to stabilize the bladder neck and provide support for the urethra is called a vesica sling procedure. Using either an autologous or a synthetic sling material to hold the sling in place, once inserted, the vesica sling can provide urinary support for a relatively long period of time. This procedure is also used in order to treat both hypermobility and ISD.
